We modeled EDFA and calculated what should be the optimum length of the fiber in this research.

• Increasing the length of EDFA up to a certain value increases the gain, and thus, the output power.
• Loss and noise are also key parameters in determining the optimal length.
• After a certain length, the gain saturates; however, noise and loss increase.
• Our model shows that the optimal length for EDFA is 6 m with a noise figure of 3.58 dB.
